Four Poems

Bliss

Bliss –
A kiss that aches,

Gravity
Between two sparks.

Living in a bed of stars,
Chemicals unite –

The universe implodes and explodes
With passionate impulses of light.

Wings

Angel’s lost wings
With broken pearl feathers
As she wonders aimlessly

The streets and corners
Glow
With her misguided tears

Riding winds
The angel lifts up
Sets down
On unfamiliar ground
Not knowing
From where she came
Looking for a trail
Of fallen feathers

Walk towards the light
Whisper a song
To guide in and out
Of dreams

With those notes
She finds her way
Off the floor
Out of this world
But doesn’t move

When the angel found her wings
She wouldn’t fly
away

Crashing Giants

Irrelevant
Time and space
In this foreign place
Where the mindlessly hopeful
Beg for redemption
With no meaning
In this gray air

Giants crash down
With charred lungs
Of the chapter’s end
A diseased cough rings in tunnels
Of hope and promise

A glimmer stays persistent
Shining through the smoky sky
Never consumed
But inconvenienced
As life is present
With every breath.

America

Simplicity is obsolete
Society’s giants thrive
on a greedy monopolizing
of people
and class

False images cast shadows
on the spirit of the origin
of my surroundings

Loud engines pollute
the sky’s cotton clouds
as Blue dims to gray

Watch as the eagle soars,
Turns to stone,
Crashes down,
Shattering a glass door
to realities of this world

The mindless
is the only mind
that minds
the undermining
of the vast dreams
our ancestors built
and lived upon

Wish for the ignorance
to decompose
the spirit of carelessness
to change
the thick air
to clear

Hope for a new age
of healthy content
a pillar of a brighter dawn
Hopelessly obscure
is the challenge in the
Minds, hearts, and dreams
of the conscious.
